Perfluoropolyether grease (fluorine grease) is refined from PTFE, PFPE with
additives. In the chemical industry, PFPE is the ideal working fluid for vacuum
pumps; in the electronic industry, it is a high-quality lubricant for vacuum
mechanical pumps in the production of semiconductors; in the mechanical
industry, PFPE is suitable for high-temperature and chemically stable bearings

Perfluoropolyether grease, commonly known as fluorine grease, is refined from
polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), perfluoropolyether (PFPE) and additives. It has
excellent thermal stability, chemical inertness, low saturation vapor pressure,
good lubricity and viscosity-temperature characteristics. In the field of space
machinery lubrication, especially in the lubrication of some components with
high precision requirements, it has been widely used, mainly in the following
areas.





(1) Chemical industry: PFPE is used as working fluid in various vacuum pumps
[rotary pumps, turbo-molecular pumps and vapor diffusion pumps]; when there are
corrosive gases in the operating environment, PFPE is used as lubricating oil
for compressors and valves.


(2) Electronics industry: the use of plasma etching, LPCVD and plasma
cultivation and other technologies to produce semiconductors to be used in a
number of vacuum mechanical pumps, and PFPE as a vacuum mechanical pump
lubricant to achieve satisfactory results.


(3) Machinery industry: PFPE is often used as high temperature and chemically
stable porous metal bearings, conveyor belts, paper and textile machinery
lubricants, when used as a plastic bearing lubricant, its anti-wear ability to
improve when some electromechanical equipment (such as current contactors,
switches and buttons and sliding electrical contactors, etc.) in the need for
good lubrication and resistance to arcing is often to use PFPE lubricants.


(4) Nuclear industry: in the UF6 enrichment workshop, when the temperature is
higher than 130 ℃ when the lubricant is required to resist the chemical impact
of UF6, but also requires dry, dust-free and low vapor pressure, PEPE is allowed
to be used as a super-centrifugal bearing lubricant lubricant in such working
conditions.


(5) Aerospace industry: Because PFPE has a wide range of liquid temperature,
low evaporation, high static viscosity, very low vapor pressure, low flow
temperature and good high-pressure lubrication in the aerospace industry has
been used.


(6) Magnetic media industry: low coefficient of friction, low volatility and
good insulation make PFPE can be used as the lubrication of hard disk, magnetic
tape and other magnetic recording media on instruments such as juice calculator,
video recording and automatic recording device. 


The biggest characteristics of
perfluoropolyether grease: high temperature, long lubrication cycle, waterproof,
good acid and alkali resistance. Most of the general food industry is used in
high temperature and longer lubrication cycle requirements of the position, and
seals. It can be said that the highest cost-effective products for
high-temperature environments, high temperature 200 ℃ to 260 ℃, its service life
than 300/F-YL products up to 10 times more than the cost-effective compared to
peers more than 30% lower.

    In the high-temperature battlefield of industrial equipment, the performance of lubricating materials directly determines the "life and death" of the equipment. The operating temperature of traditional mineral greases and synthetic greases is firmly limited to the range of 150℃-200℃. Once the critical temperature is exceeded, rapid decomposition and evaporation will not only shorten the lubrication cycle, but may also cause fatal failures such as bearing jamming and component damage. On July 22, 2024, Mr. Li from an automotive parts manufacturing technology company inquired about the suitability of DuPont GPL-205K perfluoropolyether grease for automotive contact grease and conductive grease. On August 8, Mr. Li explicitly requested an alternative to GPL-205 and provided detailed testing requirements, including: room temperature resistance comparison, 48-hour delamination test at 160°C, 144-hour resistance test under thermal cycling conditions of -40°C to 150°C, 144-hour mechanical endurance test, and verification of EGR valve minimum duty cycle and sensor voltage deviation at different temperatures. Engineer Li explained that the company specializes in EGR valves, with an annual production capacity exceeding one million units. The grease is primarily used for valve stems with a diameter of 4mm and a length of 40mm.

In response to this request, we promised to send a 50g sample of YBS-205 and the accompanying solvent, explaining that a 10%-20% performance degradation during thermal cycling testing would be considered unqualified. Engineer Li subsequently engaged in in-depth discussion regarding the impact of low-temperature mechanical motion on the grease, and we provided professional answers.


On September 8th, Engineer Li reported that the YBS-205 perfluoropolyether grease had successfully passed all tests and would enter the procurement process for a quantity of one million units. Recently, Jialede developed a wide-temperature-range high-performance product based on perfluoropolyether (PFPE) grease to address the harsh operating conditions of needle bearings in customers' air compressor main units. This grease maintains stable lubrication in environments with large swing angles, 1500 rpm oscillations, and long-term high loads of 2000 N.



Needle bearings in air compressor main units are typically subjected to frequent oscillations and high-rhythm stress, and during long-term use, they experience operating temperatures exceeding 100°C, even reaching 220°C under instantaneous extreme conditions. Ordinary greases are prone to problems such as high-temperature evaporation, shear thinning, or low-temperature hardening under these conditions. Jialede's PFPE grease possesses excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, low-temperature fluidity, and extremely strong mechanical stability, covering a wide operating range from -40°C to 280°C.

The customer's validation program includes:
* Low-temperature performance testing: After the sample is left to stand at -40°C for 8–24 hours, the rheological state of the grease is observed and the compressor starting current is measured.


* High-temperature durability testing: Continuous validation for at least 3 months under operating conditions exceeding 100°C.


Approximately 50g of grease is required for each compressor's needle roller bearing.
