High Temperature Anti Seize Compound

Perfluoropolyether lubricant is a synthetic lubricant with good temperature, corrosion and chemical resistance, mainly used for oil film lubrication of machinery under high temperature, high load, strong acid, strong alkali and strong oxidizing agent environment, such as turbocharger, vacuum pump and high temperature furnace.


Perfluoropolyether lubricant is usually difficult to dissolve in conventional organic solvents, including petroleum ether, benzene, toluene, acetone, ethyl acetate and so on. However, it can be dissolved by strong solvents such as benzene nitrate, trichloroethylene and chloroform. In practice, perfluoropolyether lubricants usually do not need to be dissolved and can be used directly.


Note: When handling PFPE lubricants, contact with oxygen, gaseous forms of chloride ions and fluoride should be avoided to avoid explosion or toxic gas release.


The molecular structure of PFPE lubricants and hydrocarbon lubricants is basically similar, but in the PFPE molecule the fluorine atom replaces the hydrogen atom, thus replacing the c-H bond in hydrocarbons with the stronger c-F bond. And the existence of c-o and c-c strong covalent bonds, as well as the characteristics of PFPE molecular neutrality, so that PFPE has a high thermal and oxidative stability and good chemical inertia and insulation properties. The larger molecular weight PFPE also has low volatility, a wide liquid temperature range and excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics. In addition, the key physicochemical properties of PFPE polymers include: detection stability, biological inertness, low surface energy, good lubricity and compatibility with plastics, metals and elastomers.


Properties of perfluoropolyethers


The main chain of perfluoropolyether is composed of -CF2-O-CF2- such ether chain, different from -CF2CF2CF2- perfluoroolefin chain, it has the flexural property, the The glass transition temperature is low, and the temperature range of the co-liquid (freezing point to boiling point) is extremely wide. On the other hand, due to the strong electron-absorbing effect of elemental fluorine, the polymer does not exhibit etheric properties, so it has excellent heat resistance, chemical stability, oxidative stability and complete noncombustibility.


However, this substance lacks hygroscopicity and is insoluble in organic solvents, and is only miscible in perfluoro oil or Fluoron 113 (tri-atmosphere trifluoroethane). This property makes it virtually harmless to plastics and rubber.





Perfluoropolyether has a high specific gravity but low surface tension and refractive index, possessing the characteristics of perfluorinated compounds, and is a highly transparent oil substance. It has a very high LD56 value in an oral acute toxicity test on mice and has no accumulation in living organisms, so it is almost non-toxic. However, when decomposition occurs, extremely toxic substances are produced. When using in an environment where decomposition is expected to occur, it is necessary to install air-ventilating equipment and not to take this fluorine oil lightly because it is stable.

In the working conditions of high-temperature equipment, mechanical equipment often works in a high-temperature environment for a long time, which will cause problems such as sintering corrosion, rust or wear of parts. Because these parts are difficult to disassemble, later maintenance becomes inconvenient. Many people choose destructive disassembly to solve the problem, but this will increase the cost of later maintenance and replacement and reduce work efficiency. Few people will consider how to prevent this tragedy from happening. What is Anti-Seize Compounds?
Anti-Seize Compounds is a high-performance paste lubricant that can be applied to various bolts, chains, and protects threads from being exposed to high-temperature connections to prevent seizure and corrosion. 1. High temperature resistance
Anti-Seize Compounds are favored for their excellent high temperature resistance. In mechanical work, production operations are often required in high temperature environments. If the Anti-Seize Compounds used cannot withstand high temperatures, it will lose its function, making the use of anti-bite agents in machinery meaningless.

In scenarios where pumps are vacuum-circulated to simulate space capsule environments, the performance of the coolant directly determines experimental accuracy and equipment stability. Perfluoropolyether lubricant, with its unique molecular structure, is an ideal choice for this trial.


Its core advantage lies primarily in its extreme low-temperature fluidity. At a target temperature of -70°C, perfluoropolyether lubricant maintains extremely low viscosity, maintaining a stable flow. For the estimated usage of 50 kg, the high adaptability of this perfluoropolyether lubricant is further highlighted. Its extremely low vapor pressure in a vacuum environment can effectively reduce volatilization losses and avoid the impact of perfluoropolyether lubricant volatilization on vacuum degree. At the same time, the usage of 50KG can meet the long-term operation requirements of small and medium-sized pump circulation systems, taking into account both economy and practicality, and providing key support for the smooth implementation of space capsule environment simulation experiments.

Recently, Jialede received a request from a customer specializing in automotive powertrain systems. This customer was seeking a fluorine grease with high shear viscosity, wide temperature range adaptability, and excellent damping properties for lubricating the metal-nylon mating parts in spline structures.


The customer's operating environment is extremely demanding: the operating temperature range is from -40°C to 160°C, and at high speeds of 4000-6000 rpm, the splines exhibit both circumferential and axial movement. The existing grease exhibited "surge" under high shear conditions, leading to uneven transmission, increased noise, and accelerated wear. The customer desired an equivalent product with performance similar to or even better than Klüber HPX 93-1202 and planned to conduct initial testing with approximately 500 grams of samples, with an estimated annual usage of 600 kg.


To address this need, our laboratory provided three candidate samples:
YBS-1768 Perfluoropolyether Grease – possessing excellent high-temperature stability and chemical resistance, suitable for long-term lubrication in extreme environments.


YB-NBU12 No. 2 Synthetic Grease – slightly harder texture, with good mechanical stability and protective properties.


YBS-1743 New Fluorinated Grease – based on NBU12 grease, with the addition of 5% ultrafine PTFE powder, significantly improving low-speed damping and friction smoothness.


Through targeted formulation design, we strive to achieve a balance between high-temperature shear stability, low-temperature starting torque, and damping performance at the nylon-metal friction interface.
